Going to be working from home - I think.

Will work from home for a while. So I went out to buy a displayport to VGA connector cable so I can use two monitors. Best Buy is out. Went to Target and asked. They are out. They let me look at the shelves and they look like the toilet tissue aisle at Kroger; not an item to be seen.

Went to Walmart (hate to admit). Same story. The shelves of all different kinds of connectors were almost completely bare. Price tag hangers all along the shelves with nothing but empty space below the tags.

So I ordered on line with delivery "estimated" for next Friday. We shall see.

Guess I am behind the curve when it comes to getting ready to work from home.

Well, look on the bright side. Work from home means lots of time to wrench!
But yes, stores need to be pilfered early in the morning I've found for some of those 'hot' items

That was a very good informing vidio Junkman this is a very bad virus the worst part is it should never have happened but keep your morale up and we'll get thru it. I saw a show last night called into the heart of corona they took you inside a hospitol in Milan Italy was very depressing there was not a single soul on the streets leading to the hospitol. I chose not to go to work to protect my wife and I from getting this do not know when I will go back in the meantime I have noise in an engine in my daily runner that I have to figure out what's causing it so far no luck. Hope life gets back to normal soon.

Think about this. The majority of business do not pay for their employee's gasoline or car maintenance expenses not to mention the purchase price of the car. The employee gets to shoulder that burden.

Second, with the Coronavirus, they may order employees to work from home. The employee then has the expense of both computer hardware and internet service.

More slavery.

No, through the years I've taken note of how big business screws over their employees in little ways. Me Boss, you slave. Now get back to work.

You might be able to use different connectors (like hdmi or dvi). VGA is pretty dated and lacks clarity -- it is an analog video signal. It may seem like splitting hairs but sitting in front of the monitor for 8+ hours a day it can really make a difference. Amazon has been pretty quick to ship for me, but also check out monoprice.

Unless of course, you work for one of the many decent companies out there.

I've grown sick of the big corporate slave machine. Welcome to the cube farm where we work you to death. They pay you just enough to keep you from quitting while you work just hard enough to not get fired.

perfect.

I was not sure what was needed to make my Win10 produce a two monitor system. Called Dell and the connector was what they said I needed. VGA and analog does not really bother me as I am basically doing Excel and Word and email. But I will be using a VPN and need two monitors to keep everything straight.

It looks like Windows 10 can help you set up two monitors using Display. However anytime I think something is simple - it turns out not to be so.

Have you ever even held a job? BTW, there's a subforum for your political slobbering. Keep your insanity over there.

Windows sucks. Worst operating system on the planet unless you enjoy micro-managing and micro-repairing the computer every other day of the week. Go apple, you won't regret it.

It will more likely come down to your computer capabilities than win10. Win10 will definitely support it, but you would be limited by your hardware. I would doubt any issues though, dual monitors is pretty standard for any machine in the last 10-15 years. Similarly, the need for VGA (or other adapters) will rely on your monitor inputs. A lot of monitors will have a VGA as well as either HDMI or DVI so you may have some flexibility there.

I have 3 monitors running in a matrix between 3 machines (basically I can run anywhere between 1 and 3 monitors for any/all and any combo).
