Coupe vacuum seat relay

Having hard time finding old stories... have my coupe door card off, doing a few repairs. Want to update the cosmolene in there. Of course the stuff stinks, so I’d like to keep the door open overnight. As I recall (and can hear clicking), the door has a relay that allows the seats to be moved by releasing vacuum.

Doesn’t that relay get hot or something? Is it bad to leave the door open?

I recall reading of this before the days of when I had a coupe...

Thanks!

If in doubt you can always disconnect the battery

Ok I looked at the wiring diagram and the Vacuum switchover valve for the backrest locking is live all the time(even with ignition key off) when the door is open so I think it's better to disconnect the battery or pull fuse #2

I think the relay is behind the glovebox or near there.

Correct. Question was if there was a thermal issue with the relay, if the doors were left open.

I think there is a a thermal issue so I don’t leave my doors open for a long time without disconnecting the battery.
