om603 IP PARTS?

Folks,

I'm after a delivery pump valve (orifice) and the spring that goes underneath for my '86 SDL. Does anyone, ANYWHERE have an om603 pump that is broken or on a car that is being parted out? Or perhaps the lead on a om603 car that is being parted out? MB wants $99.00 for valve/orifice and the spring is no longer available through the dealer. I am at a standstill. Who wants to be a life saver today?

Desparately,
Taco

Just an FYI, the dealer says they can get the delivery valve, they can't. It is NLA. The spring is still available, no idea why they say they can't get it. You may be better to post in the "want to buy" section for someone parting out an IP. Too bad you didn't hit me up about a month ago, I just threw out a set of 6!

I've got an IP from a parted out 603. It's shrink wrapped, sitting on a shelf and ready to go. I don't want to part it out, but you're welcome to it for a fair price.

I don't know if it'll work, but I found this one on ebay.

Thank you gentlemen.

Diseasel, I have these P/N
Spring A 001 074 21 93
Valve A 001 074 21 93
Perhaps I have the wrong number? I called big central Ohio dealer. He said the springs weren't in North America or Germany? Internet search with that PN doesn't give me anything of the sort. I'll try the want to buy forums.

Martureo,
I appreciate your offer. I am trying to track down a broken one, as it would be silly to render a working one inoperable by taking the valve. I saw that some one on ebay! The shipping is nearly three times the cost of the pump, making me very apprehensive.

I'll press on into the depths of the forums.

Taco

People seem to be so focused on Mercedes that they forget the Fuel Injection System is made by Bosch. Bosch Certified Fuel Injection Shops should be able to get what you need but the names for the parts are going to be different.

The Fuel Injection Pump and the Governor both have their own number plates and the numbers can be used to look up which Bosch parts are needed for your specific Fuel Injection Pump.
Write down all of the numbers on the plate.

Also if you have the real Mercedes numbers and are sure they are correct check eBay and UK eBay.

In the attached pic the green arrow points to a possible location of the plate for the fuel injection pump. On the MW fuel injection pumps the plate is up front.

In that attached picture is what we called the parts when I used to work in a Fuel Injection Shop.
If you read in the manuals Mercedes seems to call the same parts different names I am guessing depending on who did the English translation.

You get new delivery valves with a set of new elements right? Time for a super pump build

I'm not replying in the new thread for this topic. Don't make sense to spread the information out between multiple threads when considering those who will be searching for this information in the future.

The Bosch descriptions and part numbers for these items:

- Delivery Valve Holder = 1 413 373 024
- Compression Spring = 1 414 611 024

I'm confused about what you need, TacoRico. The Delivery Valve itself is down under the holder and spring, while the Delivery Valve Holder is up top and is what you attach the fuel line going to the injector to. Some clarification on this point would be helpful.

In case it really is the Delivery Valve itself you are looking for here is the Bosch description and part number for it:

- Delivery Valve Assembly = 1 418 502 210

I have springs. PM me and we'll make arrangements to get one to you.

PS - If you are in a large enough town/city you'll have a local Bosch injection shop somewhere near you. They could get these parts for you easily and for less trouble and dough than a M-B dealer.

The springs are widely available. The correct PN for the 603.96 engines is 0010743493 which is widely available from multiple sources, including this forum's host.

The delivery valve itself is NLA. I went through trying to buy them through the dealers, parts houses, even Bosch themselves last year. Your only source for new is to hold out for a NOS one on eBay or find a used one in good condition. The part number from Greg above is good for ALL 601/2/3 engines.

I have 6 matched sets shown in the picture if that's what you are looking for. These were taken from a 99 606 with 180km a year ago then stored in ATF in individual containers. I had plans to lap these for my 603. PM me if you wish to further discuss but note I'm in Canada.

Awesome! Easy enough.

And OM606, which is what I ordered them for. How long ago did you attempt to get the DVs, D300? I bought a set of 6 from my favorite local Bosch shop, Diesel Forward (formerly Central Motive but with all the same people), just a few months ago. Installing them made a noticeable difference in how the engine runs.

I did my work last fall, probably October or November. The parts still in circulation are NOS, they are no longer made by Bosch and no longer carried by MB. There are aftermarket replacements from China, but they're terrible (I bought a set and tried them). I held out on eBay long enough to finally source a set of 6 NOS OE MB valves and the difference in how the engine runs is shocking.

I bought mine in December, right before Christmas. I still have the packaging. Original Bosch, albeit made in India. So far so good with them. I kept the old ones in case of issues.

I have 2 Bosch pieces that I sourced as part of my parts gathering, both in original Bosch packaging and were still encased in the wax coating. Made in India. I sourced a matched set of 6 MB parts from 4 different sellers, all of them manufactured in 2004 (MB puts the MFG date on their labels) and used them in my car keeping the Bosch units as spares.
