I'm sure this info is buried in one of the many oil cooler seal threads...

Is there an OM642 production date after which different seals were used by MB such that the seals are not likely to fail? Or are all OM642 seals subject to the same failure?

Reason I ask is that there's a 2009 for sale near me with a production date of June 2008.

I would say 2008 is still in 'orange' territory.

My 2013 E350 got its oil cooler seals replaced under CPO warranty this spring. I didn't get the dead parts back to know if they were orange or purple.

My 2012 S350 had them done by the previous owner at 77k / 6 years old. The work order stated that the oil cooler was replaced.
