1984 7 pin Ignition switch with column lock

I've experience the common failure of the pot metal actuator form the column lock to the ignition switch.

No supplier, has these in stock. Does anyone know of a supplier for the steering column lock? and or another solution?

thanks
Tim

I have just finished about 45 minutes of searching several makers of the steering Colum locks and can find no place that is selling them.

I bought mine back in 2013 and had not paid attention to their availability after that time.

My "solution" was to disable the column lock.

This isn't the locking portion, this is the part that starts the car. Has anyone tried to replace the broken piece? I don't know if it comes apart.

In the first attached picture the Green X is the end where the lock tumbler engages. Notice it broke in 2 different places.
The shaft to the left of the picture is longer and is what turns the actual ignition switch.

In the next attached picture the green X is and those 2 holes is where the Lock Tumbler insert and the holes match protrusions on the lock tumbler so you can turn both.
Some people have had problems with the holes and some have had the finger that the red arrow points to break somewhere behind it.

There may be other ways it can fail but that is all I can remember reading about.
None of it looks easily repairable to me and there is no individual parts for the inside that I know of.

This is a picture under and behind the dash board. K is the Key end L is the Steering Colum Lock and C is the Ignition Switch connector.

Where the yellow line is inside there is a steel plunger and that is what locks the Steering Colum.

#1 is exactly the problem I have. Doesn't seem that anybody has them in stock.
