w201 190D Brake Booster compatibility

Having the hardest time finding a reasonable brake booster for my '86 190D. I'm finding conflicting information but does anyone know if the booster from a w124 will work? I found one parts diagram that shows compatibility.

The part number for the w124 is 0034301630. Mine is listed as 0044300730. Just seeing if anyone could shed light on cross compatibility because there seem to be plenty of w124 boosters out there. Thank you!

I wish I had the part number for the one that's in there but it's a rebuilt unit with no paint on it or any part number indication at all. Previous owner decided to change the rod length inside the booster and created a leak in the process. So the brake pedal sits lower than it should. This was done because the rear brakes were dragging, or so the PO thought. Turns out the dragging was from the e-brake cables and not the brakes themselves.

You can sometimes swap boosters from one chassis to another. The larger W116 booster will fit into w123, for instance. w124 may fit into w201...I say give it a try, they're not super hard to swap, as long as you have enough wobble extensions.

If not, send me a PM and I can see if I can send out your booster to the shop I send all my boosters to for rebuild. They only do business-to-business and don't deal with the general public.

Good luck

Thank you! I was able to get the brake booster I had on hand rebuilt through Cardone. Just had to say it was a 190E and not a 190D.
