1984 300SD front stabilizer mount woes
Hello All,
After going through and replacing upper control arms, support rod joints, tie rods, shocks, idler arm bushing and center link, I took the car for a spin and noticed an occasional knock that had developed over certain terrains. After further inspection, the front drivers side sway bar bracket that holds the bushing under the fuse and brake booster region, had rusted and was only connected on one side... After attempting to remove the nuts that hold the bracket in place, they were totally frozen and continuing to round off.. I have not been able to find this bracket piece separate from an entire new sway bar assembly, does anyone have any experience in dealing with rusted sway bar bushing brackets? The passenger side needed serious work last year and myself and a friend welded a solution to keep the sway bar in place but now the other side is giving troubles.. Any insight would be appreciated. |

Find one of those Mercedes part sellers that has exploded views if the parts and get the part number and use it to search. Those places are often part of a Mercedes Dealership.
If you did you get the old nuts, bolts, brackets off? If not alternate heat with kroil or PB-Blaster (home depot sells this out here but it comes with no skinny tube here in CA). If there is room use one of those external rounded nut/bolt extractors when it comes time to remove the nut or bolt.

Maybe someone has a parts car and can get you the part.

Looks like it is the same one as on a 300D W123.
I have not done business with the company. Looks like if they have it the cost is $1.80 and the shipping is going to exceed the cost of the part.
