Shifter comarison
Hi, I am having trouble finding my new shift bushing for the five speed from the 83 Wagon. Shifting is an uncertain adventure with it the way it is. I happen to have a five speed shifter from the newer cars with a different shift pattern. Can the shifter be adapted from newer back to the older pattern?

I'm no help on this one. My 4 speed shifter for the Getrag is super smooth and all I did was install new bushings on the rods when I installed it. Where do you think the problem lies? If it's the bushings in the body of the shifter you could have new ones made from oilite by any decent machine shop.
Sorry I'm not more help. Dan |

i ordered a new bushing for the shifter. Its not hard to install. If I had a lift I'd do it myself.
