15 pin wiring diagram

I did not use sufficient care when removing my cluster and managed to break the 15 pin plug. Does anyone have or know where to find a wiring diagram for the 15 pin plug for a 1982 240D. Thanks in advance for any help.

I don't think this is for a 240D. The main issue if the wire color code is the same.
I looked in the CD factory service Manual I had and for some reason the 82 wiring diagram would not come up. There is one for an 81 but unlike the picture in the below thread it dose not show the connector well.

I find a lot of stuff of all sorts by searching: https://images.google.com

When you go there type in: 1982 Mercedes 240D instrument cluster wiring diagram, 1982 Mercedes 240D instrument cluster connector, Mercedes 240D wiring diagrams

Thanks for attempting to help Diesel911

I have tried multiple internet searches using both google and explorer without luck. It was after those searches that I thought I would try here. I had seen the link you referred me to but it is for a different model. My fear is if I use a vehicle that is not an exact match for mine I may send too many amps to a circuit and burn it out.

The combination of being a second rate tinkerer and messing with a 38 year old vehicle is not a good one. I shall keep looking for the right match. I really do appreciate you generously offering your time and effort to help. Thanks.

Jsb357 thanks for your help. That is is the closest I can find as well. I think I may solve the problem by throwing money at it. Shall take it to an expert and let him/her or them straighten it out.

Maybe the pain from watching my wallet empty will teach me to be more careful in the future. Be well.

The FSM has the electrical drawings and covers the subject well. I took a 1984 300SD engine and put it in my 1985 380SE body. I used the factory service manual to check every wire in the gauge cluster to ensure all was wired correctly.

I used the cluster from the diesel body and refused to accept even the ignition wiring. I recommend that you do this yourself unless you want to hire someone who has used the FSM to deal with wiring.

If I had the manual for that car I would do it but it probably wouldn't suit you to wait until I feel like wading through all that again. I'd say there's a 95% chance that the photo in one of the previous post in this thread is the exact same as your car's wiring.
