Question Om601 injector pump leak

Problem with the 190D. It is leaking fuel out of the top of the 14mm lock nut. I try to tighten the nut but it is tight already. I suspect it is the delivery valve seal but I don't understand why it leaks out from the top. The symptom is like the nut is loosen to bleed fuel, it is oozing out.

Red face

Found the problem. There is a hairline crack with the hardline. I removed the hardline, cap it with a junk injector, immerses it in water and blew compress air through the line. Bubble came out. Replaced it with a spare hardline and bent it to fit. Problem fixed. It is an unusual failure mode with the line cracked at the end.

Tip to bend the hardline which may help someone. I don't have a tube bender so this is what I did. Fill the new line with water, cap both ends with junk injector. Make sure all air is out. You can then bend it to your heart content within limits.

A tip from my pump calibration guy, and I think I read it here somewhere too, is missing clips that hold and organize the hardlines together can increase the chance of hardline failure.
