1991 W124 Clear Oil in expansion tank
Guys,
I was going over the w124 I just acquired. I opened the expansion tank and it looks like the PO put power steering fluid in it. No other oily residue found in the system. I did note a light green coolant though, so it will be getting G05 after a system flush. What is the best way to clean the expansion tank, or should I just replace it?

If the car is clean, you're keeping it and the tank is reasonable in $ replace it and the cap. Watch the hoses for failure/going soft if petroleum was in the system.
If reusing the tank clean it thoroughly with dish soap and hot water. Good luck!!!
