1991 300D EGR Delete Kit

Does anyone know if the w123 EGR delete fit would work on the OM602?

Thanks!

Disabling the EGR is as easy as stuffing a BB or ball bearing in the vacuum fitting at the EGR valve.

Not on a 91. If you block the line it will kill the boost. Best bet is to do the wastegate conversion… then you can simply remove all those vacuum lines and the EGR will stay closed. You can use a blocking plate if you want but not necessary.

The ecu is expecting exhaust gases to be introduced to the cylinders. It detects this by a drop in the mass air flow rate. Blocking EGR prevents this therefore no boost is allowed.

Is the '91+ 602 ECU actually sophisticated enough to measure for that? I'm aware that the OM606 W210s are, but the W124s were still pretty crude.

Yep... read the various wastegate conversion threads. Very well documented.

Well if that isn't the perfect motivation to do a pressure wastegate conversion, I don't know what is.

Yes the w124s behave like that it is well documented in the 85 page documentation describing EGR testing. I did find when unplugging the MAF it always has boost but others had no effect.

I found out that a Perkins truck diesel uses the same pressure wastegate activator. Finding one or one like it is the fun part.

I am looking at doing the waste gate conversion. Have read all the threads. I am looking for an actuator now, since the turbo will be delivered on Monday.

Does ATP turbo no longer have it? I believe that was the supplier that all of us utilized several years ago.

Also, would an ALDA banjo bolt at the intake, and then to the turbo using the hard type line work?

Shertex, I do not know if they have it or not. Last reading indicated no.
