No. I decided it was too much for me and my Indie to do. It is for sale though.

I discovered a hole which requires a rubber plug on the front end of my rocker panel. Anybody know the part number for it? It looks a lot like some of the other plugs around in the 123....floor drains, and trunk drains as examples.

So long as you have the seat bottom and back, no reason why it shouldn't bolt right in. The only thing that would be absent is the shoulder belt. You also may or may not have punch outs in the rear side panels for the seat belt to pass thru, if not, a slight mod can be made to your existing side panels to accommodate. If you have the seat belts, all of the bolt bosses are in the chassis behind headliner and carpeting. If the shoulder belts are not available, MB lab belts could be installed on just the floor locations. Same holds true for the cargo net and cover, the provisions all exist, just have to get the parts and find the mounting locations.

Here's a thread from a while back that may be of use, particularly the pictures of the panel without the seat cushion installed, there are some recesses and loops that may or may not be present in yours that will need something fashioned to secure the upper portion of the seat back. Luckily the floor panels are plywood and easy to modify or secure screws to.

I doubt if my kids will let the grandkids ride in a lap belt only car.

I am offering this lovely 124 Wagon for sale at a price that is significantly less than my investment. It has the euro heavy duty cloth seats with no sags, stains or tears. It is very close to perfect. No rust of any significance is to be found. It is a very handsome car...in my opinion one of the best looking wagons ever built.

It has the euro only NA 6 cylinder 3.0 liter motor.

On the road it will do 40 mpg.

It has new Michelin tires, new front shocks, oil change, glow plugs and has had the injectors cleaned. It drives and looks very close to as new. It has 300 some kilometers on it. lt starts promptly and idles smoothly. The gear ratios are tall and it takes a boot to select first gear. It is a bit slow off the line but does well if you push the throttle down. Once moving it will rev up to 5000 rpm and will go just fine with a nice whine as the rpm builds up.

I wanted to convert it to six speed manual. I bought a six speed here but I found the electronics needed a bit too much and decided not to do the conversion. I will include the six speed tranny, flywheel, clutch, pedal cluster and shifter

I imagine with the six speed it will touch 50 mpg at 70 mph.

$16,000 obo.

I'll prolly keep it now. I sold the ML250 instead. Today I discovered it does not appear to have AC. I guess when I brought it home it was cold outside. Any body do an add on on these?

I dont think it is feasible to retrofit a factory HVAC system into these cars. A lot of pods, vac lines and electrics would have to be swapped over let alone the evaporator which in and of itself is a real PIA job. If you had another working AC example and could disassemble both and do a swap it's possible, just lots and lots of time and effort.

Double check to be sure that it didnt have AC before, look for the refrigerant lines, drier, condensor, sometimes someone may have simply removed the compressor after failure and buttoned it up. You might get lucky.

Best of luck

If it's the same as this car: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1992-mercedes-benz-300td/ WDB1241901F216466 pics show both the original factory AC sticker, a shop AC maintenance sticker, the dual climate control, the dryer, and refrigerant hose. Admittedly, the compressor is a bit hard to make out but can be seen from below in one of the pics.

"Probably just needs freonŠ"

He cannot get the compressor to lock in so cannot even see if there are any leaks. I have a handbook which appears to be for the 124 euro. It does not have much of anything on the ac. He said there are two things he can check Monday, so we'll see about it.

I found another shop with a mechanic with extensive euro experience. Dropped it off a couple weeks ago. He called and said it is ready to pick up.

Woo hooo!
