95 E300D: Replace wiring harnesses; How to remove from hard plastic routing 'shell'?
Recently had 6 glowplugs replaced at the dealer. They mentioned both the engine and glow harnesses were shot. I have secured each replacement harness from a MB harness remanufacturer in Germany (via EBay.)
I have the intake manifold off at the moment and I am trying to best figure out how to extricate each harness from the car and then remove both from their hard plastic routing shell. The hard plastic shell on my car still seems flexible, but I do not want to break it by prying it apart. I can see it could disintegrate if I get to rough with it. It also appears it wedges into place between the oil filter canister and the A/C compressor but I have not verified fully. I have checked WIS, and there is no information on this. Sigh. Any tips or help appreciated. Thx

Update: Got it done. I didn't end up breaking anything. For how BAD all the wiring was, the plastic routing shell was very flexible and I didn't break anything.
I think it goes to show you how BAD that insulation material really is.

It's hard as hell in my car. Difficult to deal with. I like the hair dryer softening tip mentioned in another thread.
