124 front bearings
While changing the oil for the first time, since I got the car running, I noticed some front wheel bearing play when I shook the wheel back and forth from the top and bottom.
Is the bearing preload adjustment the same procedure as the w123? Thanks!

I've always used the same procedure on the 124 as I used on the 123.

I have done front bearings on 124, 210 and 211 chassis and it's essentially the same process for all of them.

I get too anal at times perhaps. That much movement possibly means the bearings are worn. The rate of wear accelerates after it is established usually.

I agree, too much play. PO had Firestone hacks in Texarkana, Tx work on the car. I have found plenty of poor mechanical repairs.
Thanks for the info!
