ALDA thread size/pitch?

Hey alls...

Would anyone happen to know the thread size and pitch for the ALDA unit? I'm wanting to do some testing with the ALDA removed and want to make a plug for it while it's off.

You could determine it with a caliper rather easily, as there is a 99% chance it is metric thread. My alda is not anywhere near me, so I cannot do it myself.

There are commercially available covers, cheap enough that unless you already have a lathe and the skill to do so, you're probably better off just buying one.

No need for a cover. The shaft is sealed.

Also, there is no benefit to having the ALDA off. If its properly adjusted, the only thing it will do is prevent smoke at low boost. There should be no "rocket booster" effect and off the line acceleration should not be slow. There are no negative points to leaving the ALDA installed and adjusted correctly.

ALL of this. If the ALDA is properly adjusted (and the seals are good so that it holds pressure), you should notice ZERO difference in performance other than clouds of black smoke if you romp it from a stop. That black smoke is fuel you wasted, pollution you created, and further degraded the appearance of diesels cars in the public eye.

.... I'm doing TESTING... you know... to see if it's the issue or not. Lol.

Yes I'm well aware of it's function and how it SHOULD work. It's much easier to remove it from the equation to see if the problem persists than to fiddle with it. Yes I can quickly make a cap for it... beats paying $30 for something I'd only use for a few days.

Now that I know it is sealed under it, I'm not worried about it.

Thanks for the "helpful" input though. Got it figured out.

A properly adjusted ALDA will let you do 250 MPH on the Autobahn.
