w124 Headlight wiper system

Guys,

I am looking to add the headlight wiper system to my car. it did not have that option installed.

What parts do I need to do that, besides the wiper system and surround?

Also, what kind of a PITA is that to do?

Thanks!

From what I remember, you’ll need
The wiring harness to the motors
The extra pump and all the tubing
The washer jar has the place for the second pump but you’ll have to drill it out. The grommet was still available a couple years back.
The motors don’t have any kind of control unit, the rule is (headlights on and windshield washer activated) then run the pump and cycle the wipers. They have the same park/run switch as regular wipers, except the switch is in one side only and the other just follows along.

Btw the 126 uses the same motors, pump and nozzles (but a different trim strip). So you can look for 126s also for the mechanical parts.

You will need to check the headlight assembly ,because the motor is held in to the bottom of the headlight case .

I am wanting to get Ecode lights also. Are the DEPO o es any good? I would prefer Bosch or Hella, but not for the $800 I am coming across.

So I'm glad this post was recent.

Does anybody know where the harness runs to on the car? Does the driver side have more plugs and does the passenger side have more plugs and where does the harness end up running to in the car?

I've been running TYC on the 87 for 10+ years without issue or degradation. Very happy with those headlamps. They did not have the wiper provision, sbo I installed blank trim plates and haven't missed the wipers since.

If I didnt want to get the harness from a junkyard that ties the headlights to the washer pumps (for the purpose of adding headlight wipers to my car that didnt come with them), is there a way to make the wipers and squirters come on with my own rocker switch on the dash and still have them come.to rest when I turn the switch off???
Any electronics guys here that can explain?
Maybe a factory toggle switch that is spring loaded and you hold it up to make the wipers and squirters operate and when you let go they go back to rest?
