Genuine Mercedes Glow Plugs or???

I've seen a lot of talk on here regarding different brands of glow plugs for W123 models and it usually boils down to either Bosch, Beru or Monarks but I was wondering how genuine Mercedes glow plugs compare? I know there are some parts where going with genuine Mercedes parts is worth spending the extra money on but are glow plugs not one of them? I don't feel like many people on here buy them. Is that because of price or is it because Bosch or a different brand is better? If money was no object and you had to choose between genuine Mercedes or Bosch glow plugs, which would you choose?

Always Bosch. Never had good results with anything else.
I collected them (only Bosch) from junkyard engines for a year long ago, tested them and keep as replacements when one goes bad every few years. Haven't spent a penny on glowplugs in 15 years and still have a dozen left.

Mercedes never made glow plugs to my knoowledge. Bosh is pretty much it today for reliability. Beru probably is as good but hard to get.

Original equipment was one or other of those brands as well. Mercedes used both.

They come up as an option when I do a search and it says they are still available. Maybe they weren't available again until recently?

I have always used Bosch, never had a problem with them.
1/2 the price of the OEM MB one`s, and maybe Bosch anyway.

I guess at the end of the day they are not that expensive so if I try a brand and they don't work for me I can try another brand next time. Thanks for the feedback!

I ordered glow plugs for an om606 from the dealer. What I received was Beru branded plugs with no tristar marking. That was a big surprise

My '82 300D came with Bosch glow plugs.
Now on the second set with 191k miles. Bosch plugs haven't given me anything to complain about.

With 6 months use 2 of the new 5 Autolite Glow Plugs had the tips swell and I had trouble getting them out after only 6 months use.

The Monark Glow Plugs I replaced them with had a single failure after one year. Replaced all of them with Bosch which lasted 10 years before a single faiure.

However, I always use a glow plug reamer when the plugs are out.

Online the Bosch made in France Glow Plugs are between $8.50 and $10.50. Not expensive.

Bosch is a bit of a hit or miss I'm told. If you get the French versions, they won't fail. Monark is only made in Germany and are also solid.
