Though I've never liked the NA tensioners losing tension due to losing their prime/internal seals, etc. Why allow oil pressure to do a spring's job?

The serviceable turbo tensioner seems so much better/more reliable.

I believe they both use oil pressure to keep the guide against the chain, but the turbo units have the ratcheting system that keeps the tension on the guide. When installing the piston in the bore, it only goes in toward the guide, and will not move the opposite way.

It isn't very loud even without the full exhaust. Is it louder in person? Would a straight pipe sound bad if you were opposed to moving away from the Mercedes luxury quiet?

It is not very loud at all. The video sounds about the same in person. I suppose one could delete the mufflers, and it would sound pretty good.
