Bowden cable adjustment sleeve thread size?
Hey guys...
So while trying to sort out my erratic shifting issues in the 300SD.. I discovered that the adjustment sleeve on the engine side of the bowden cable is broken. Does anyone know the male thread size for that cable end? I'm planning on 3d printing a replacement that is slotted and can be slid on the cable from the side. If I can manage that, I'll post the STL file or make a few for those who need them. I may be able to get the broken piece out of the linkage to measure the thread but if anyone has one laying around that they wouldn't mind gauging, I'd appreciate it. |

Those plastic threads always break. I did similar to you, but not threaded. I just cut a tube (1/4?) the length to set the cable where the plastic threads did, with an axial slot to slide it over the cable. I angled the slot so the tube won't easily fall off the cable, though the cone-shaped seats tend to hold it in place, as does the spring tension.
