My 1987 300td

Here's some pics of my 1987 300td, supposedly they never offered cloth interior in a 1987 300td in the US. I can't find anything about this car, anybody know anything about the color and interior? Brown exterior and brown cloth.

Beautiful car. If you can provide the VIN, we can determine if it was a USA import (special order) or was originally sold outside USA. If you don't want to post in the thread, shoot me a PM or email...

WDBEB93D7HF045236 was special order, European delivery. Even had ortho front seats. It was a late build, one of the last imported to USA. Bummer about the accident in 2017. Very cool wagon!

Hi Dave, it's been a while. Do you happen to know where the VIN cut-off is for the last one(s) imported?

I ask, because my TD has the same month/year build as the one from the OP, but the VIN ends in 45728, which I presume was a later build. Curious as to what the last VIN of the official imported ones is.

Unfortunately, I don't know the last VIN imported... someone would need to extract all the VIN's from the EPC database (at least for 124.193 chassis) to get that data.

WDBEB93D6HF045728 is a later build than the OP's estate, also built June 1987, theoretically in or near the last month of production that would have been sent to USA for 1987 USA model year. Another rare color combo, btw... don't see a lot of silver ones. Nice!

Thanks Dave, yeah I have no intention parting with it, it's a color combo I was specifically looking for

FWIW, my 1987 300TD was built in July 1987. The VIN ends in 0477XX. Paint and interior are far more sedate (white/palomino).
