Rear turn signal lights do not work

!!!!!+a!!a!!!!a84 300D.

Recently just happend today. So yesterday I changed out all my reverse lights/turn signal lights in the rear. When I went out to test them they worked perfect. Today I was going out for a drive to the store I signal left to pull in the store and my dashboard was emitting a fast blinking turn signal light.

When I got home I opened up the rear taillight covers both left and right were not working. I checked the bulbs of the turn signal lights they looked good. The parking lights work but the turn signal lights and brake light in rear dont work

As I recall, the Hazard and Turn signal relay rely on each other. Do you have a spare Hazard switch to try? Also, check the fuses.

II dont have a spare Hazard switch to try out. The thing if it was the hazard switch why would the front turn signals work but not the rear turn signals and brake light? I checked the turn signal relay it works fine. I'm going to dive in deeper tommorow with a test light

The rear signal assemblies on a W123 have a connector to the wiring harness in the trunk. Is it possible the connector is half pulled out?

Hazard switch/turn signal switch not your problem here.

Also there is a connector under the dash which goes to the trunk. Picks up the rear lights and I believe the fuel sender and everything else electrical in the back of the car (which isn't much!). If somehow it got half unplugged it would cause problems with the rear lights. Pretty obvious when you look under the dash, it's the connector with the wire harness leading towards the back.

I'm also leaning toward either a loose connection or a blown fuse

Update: Fixed the turn signal light. Ended up being the light bulbs they had the wrong wattage. As for the brake light no bueno the brake switch under the dash is getting power. I will dive deeper into it when I come from work. Will update thread

Update #2

Ok, false alarm. The brake lights work fine...when the engine's running.
Car off, no brake lights.

I found this out when I jumpered the brake light switch connector and still got nothing, and thought I'd just try starting it to see what happened.

Is this normal for my car? All other cars I'm familiar with have working brake lights with the engine off...ju

Note that tail lights and turn signals work fine with the engine off.

The key has to be in the "Run" position for the brake lights to work.

You have one bulb in that circuit that has a filament burned out. Change the bulbs in front and rear and I'm sure that will fix it. Had the same problem ages ago. Fixed per above.
