Just a question about a replacement motor… There‘s a 200D on Car-Part from 1968… I heard someone say that the motors from that year have problems/are made of inferior metal… Is that the case?

Expand your search to regional instead of just NY state and you'll get more options. He's looking at the entire US.

car.part . com is a great tool but it's known to also be wrong sometimes.

Not enough info. No temp gauge not working could be a sign of previous sever over heating. It could be head gasket and cracked head. I was hoping for something less serious. Pull the valve cover, if it has run with a leaking head gasket for a while https://speedtest.vet/ https://vidmate.bid/ the oil will be more like pudding than just black oil. a leak down test would be nice finding tools for that would be ?????. the valve cover would have to come off any way. Tell us what it looks like in there. Pics of car would be nice too.
