Theseus owned a ship in Greek mythology, and when a part of the ship needed replacing, it was replaced. Eventually, everything was replaced. Is it the same ship? (I own the car of Theseus. )

Are you talking about the rubber type cord which terminates a view of the window at the bottom on the outside?

Yes, its the rubber strip that goes on the top of the plastic and lies up against the bottom of the windshield

If you're referring to the black rubber at the bottom of the windshield, it is NLA and I haven't seen any good ones in the local yards. All have been in the same condition.

I washed my seal, pushed it down tight, masked off the glass and filled the cracks with black caulk. I haven't paid much attention to it since.

Use butyl rubber or a urethane sealant not silicone.

Yeah, I'll need to strip that and put butyl on it. I wonder if seam sealer might work.

Not if it is on the exterior or exposed to U-V rays.

I got an aftermarket one from Carus in Germany. Good fitment. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Seal-Sealing-Strip-Straight-Edge-Protection-Windscreen-W-126-Mercedes-/113158838054?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49286&mkrid=707-127634-2357-0
