300TD rear gate catch
IIRC it was VWNate talking about a long time yearning for high-quality used aluminum screw on catchy thingies for the rear gate.
Not long after I had a leisurely return from Washington state to the Bay Area by car, and I went to pick and Paul’s in Portland, Chico, California, and just outside of Sacramento. All three indicated on their webpage that they a 300 TD on the lot. All of them did indeed have at least a shell of one of the sought after Mercedes models. None of them had any trace of the catch still screwed on. Yesterday I was getting out of my 300D at Home Depot, and just before I did, someone tapped the passenger side window. I got out and there was an excellent looking silver 300TD. We talked for a while, I mentioned that I had looked for the rear gate catch. He opened the gate and showed me his, they looked pretty good, he says you can’t find them. But here’s the good part, he claims some guy on Facebook made them a mold and can cast them. |
Holy crap. I’m stuck in MobileTheme and I can’t find the edit button. So many typos in that post above. Please forgive me.
Does anyone know how to get unstuck from Mobile Theme on an iPhone? |
That's cool, any specifics if W123 or W124?
Usually the edit in mobile is 3 micro dots upper right. Can't confirm that for Apple though |
W123. I took a photo of our two cars together, I’ll post it in a minute.
