1982 300CD, I removed the gauge cluster. now, my battery light and my red brake light
1982 300CD, I removed the gauge cluster. now, my battery light and my red brake light are on. Those two lights are right next to each other on the gauge cluster. It seems odd that these two lights went on exactly after reinstalling the gauge cluster. The wire connections on the brake fluid reservoir seem good. But, I did check charging and it doesn't seem to be charging. I currently have it on a trickle charger until I figure out what's up. Can anyone think of a reason for this sequence of events?

Did you disconnect the battery first?
Clusters are definitely a place where you need to do so. Likely you fried a trace. The battery light is turned off by a balance of voltage on either side. Obviously you don’t have that. You can find which side the issue is on….
