603 IP leak into engine mount
That’s the IP on my 1991 350sd. It’s wet enough that the oil pan is coated and the car drips a bit from these leaks. This is the primary concern: What causes the buildup there that then spills over. The side and especially the bottom plates are culprits. The stop lever is damp for sure, so I fixed it with a Viton oring. The old oring was definitely hard and shrunk. Ok, one down. But my curiosity is if this was the main one or what? Has anyone traced the oil leak that gets on the mount arm/in the hole I showed above, and everywhere else? I tried wiping everything to see what the next source is. Time will tell. I can lock the IP and remove it if need be, to get the bottom seal, but I’m hoping someone else may have a bettter idea of what contributes to leaks where. Thanks!
