84 300D door wont lock

Hello Folks. My 84 300 wagon has the driver door which wont lock manually. The vacuum locks are long gone along with the actuators. All of the doors will lock manually but the driver's door. The key will try to lock but stops before letting the plunger descend. It turns fully to unlock. I removed the panel and could see that the lock mechanism stops after about 1/4". It is clean and lubricated. I have converted this wagon from complex to simple removing the broken hydraulic suspension and converting power windows to roll up. This is my last job. Any ideas? I hate to pull out a working latch. I have no nearby recylers in my remote area of Wyoming.

Well I will answer my inquiry . I removed The lock and the outside latch. The lock was thick with dirt and old grease. I cleaned it in gasoline and BPC until it shined and lubricated it with light synthetic oil. The cam where it locks to the chassis was stuck in the clockwise rotation. When I forced it as far as it would go CCW the lock plunger worked properly. It seems to want to do it again. IT is a very complicated arrangement of levers and slides. After I puzzled with its mechanism my Rubik's cube mystery was solved.
