Vacuum help '85 300D
Hi, I've got a couple of vacuum hoses leading into the drivers footwell from the firewall with no connections inside. They are both black in color, one is thick and if I follow it into the engine bay, is connected to a small clear filter of some sort than it branches into two hoses. The other hose(thin), if I follow it into the engine bay is connected to the side of the injector pump. I tried for several minutes looking underneath the dash, but couldn't find anything to hook this two into. On a similar note, my door locks don't work. I wonder if these hoses have anything to do with that. Thanks in advance.

Hi Alan,will the engine shut off normally?The hose going to the IP sounds like the one running from the key to the shutoff valve.Door lock lines are yellow with red or green stripes I believe.

Black lines are vent lines -- one goes to the transmission control, don't know where the other one goes. They are routed to the passenger compartment to keep dust out. They don't connect to anything inside.

The black line is supposed to be that way. Not connected to anything. Its for venting purpose and its under the kick panel to prevent sucking of any dust etc. since that are is pretty much clean and dust free.
Cant help you with other line. check the vac diagram. MVK
