300SD Exhaust
I have to replace a section of exhaust pipe on a '79 300SD. From the turbo there is a short piece of pipe, then a piece of "corregated" pipe and then a short pipe (that needs replacement) that connects to the pipe going to the front muffler.
My questions: is there any to remove the "corregated" piece of pipe from the next pipe or is all one piece? How hard is it to remove the pipe from the turbo? I plan to get a custom made piece of pipe to replace the bad section and patch it in. How important is it the have the "corregated "section of pipe? Or can I just eliminate it and replace it with a solid pipe? P E H |

It's all one piece and Mercedes considers the flexible section to be quite important. Just buy a new front pipe -- it's not all that expensive.

German Star,
I checked your website for the front pipe for '79 300SD but none was listed, only listed for '81 to '85. P E H |
