Two plugs missing back of IP (617) or is that normal??

sooooooo on 617, before the Overflow port at back of IP .... toward front of engine....... there is two other threaded ports.... assuming it normal cause my crapped out engine's IP is the same buttttttt...... with my luck lately....... Ill ask.....

is there supposed to be a plug in those two ports?

I took a look at the injection pump on my ’82 300D Turbo today and it appears to have the two big threaded holes that you describe. They are near the front of the pump. My rough guess is that they are M12 threads. They don’t have any screws, bolts, or anything else connected, and I am certain that they never have, in the 21 years I’ve had my car. Hope this helps.
