Hard closing door...

My rear passenger side door is significantly harder to close from the rest. I am betting because of lack of use from the PO. Is there a way I can lubricate this thing so it will close more smoothly. All people have problems shutting these doors because they are much more solid closing doors than most, but even I have problems with this door as well. Any help is great. Thanks.

Is the latch lined up with the striker assembly? Does the door swing on the hinges as easily as the others? I'd try some lithium grease on the door latch and open and close it a few times... make sure the grease gets in there well.

On my 300d there is a part that I took off and oiled real well in the door. I am not sure what the name of it is but it is located where the door attactes to the frame. On my car, and yours most likely, the door weatherstripping goes around this part. get some oil into there with a oil gun or do like I did and take it apart and lube it real good with some extra gear lube that you might have around. I am not sure what lube is best that is up to you. I had to remove the door panel to get at it.

good luck

It's probably a door check strap on its way out. Cheap (under $20) and easy to replace. If it is the door check strap you better get it fixed. Eventually you will not be able to close the door at all.

It's just not lubricated. I haven't gotten to it yet, but I am going to do it to all 4 doors.
