Hi all, I've got an 83 300D turbo that I'm poking around for parts to fix it up a little. No owner's manual or anything yet. Where do I find the critical numbers for this car? Lots of parts refer to 123.??? which I sort of know is the chassis number. Where should I look for this? What the engine designation for this car? I've seen numbers like 617. Any help greatly appreciated. I'm making an attempt to fix the A/C and cruise as well as some cosmetics. I have an owner's manual coming. Nice car so far, I can see another in the near future.

I'm going to guess you have a 4 door. If so, you have a 123.133

Most of you part numbers will start out with the 123 number, and then some numbers after...this is the part number.
Like 123 xxx xx xx. The 617 number is actually 617.952 This is the engine that is in your 300D.
You may find some 115 numbers on some parts, this is normal. I think the sunroof seals are 115 numbers for instance.
Trying to fix the A/C and cruise eh? Well...do a search for those things here, you will find plenty of info, I guarantee it!
You might also want to do a search on maintainance items...like valve adjustments, fuel filter changes etc.
