Well, last night I was rear-ended in my 1983 240D.
Long story short, this humongous dodge truck (at least it was a diesel) creamed into the back of my car while going slow past another crash scene. (if you want the entire story which IS pretty interesting...if you like Starsky and Hutch...email me.) Almost ripped the entire bumper off, indented the license plate area, pushed the truck up and back, pushed in the pass side fender a little...enough that I don't think it will be able to be pulled out nicely , and broke the pass rear taillight. And to top it off, his block heater plug was hanging out and scratched the top of the trunk lid. Man, I was PO'd. Now I am just sad. BUT, I am very thankful that that was all the damage...it could have been much worse. My back is pretty sore (I can barely turn side to side) but that may just be because I am back to work after 1 week vacation and not used to sitting all day. The bumpers on these things are REAL bumpers! Not the fiberglass crap that is attached to the body so that the entire back end cracks apart. Well, we will see how good my State Farm insurance is now.
