:) Brought my "new" '85 300TD home

today. I can't believe how well this car runs. It will flat blow the doors off of my 300D with the early shift issue. This is going to be one fine automobile (202k miles, records, beige, no rust southern car). I will get some pictures up after I have had a chance to wash/polish it. Everything works except the a/c and I will get that sorted out in due time - r12 for this baby.
The wife is pretty cool with it.

The first thing she looked at - the interior (compared to the 300D) looks 100% better .

I see you haven't added this beauty to your signature, yet.

Where's the pictures, man? You're killing me.

I guess from reading an earlier thread that you sold your 240d for $2,000 to your sister. I've also noticed that you've been considering selling your E320. You're starting to buy and sell cars almost as fast as TXBill. What's the deal, mid-life crisis?

Should you sell the E320, what would you buy next? Shoot, in So. Cal, a 94 E320 in good condition would sell for around $10k, give a take a $1k.

In my mind it would be just the 300D, 300TD and the Honda CRV. I believe the wife has a new Honda Odyssey with DVD pictured in her near future whether I am in it or not - this is in addition to the CRV. I want to get rid of the CRV so here we go again. I'm trying to get the total annual automobile insurance bill down to something more comfortable.

Nice car, Jim. We had one for a while before we got the 95 wagon. It, however, wasn't a southern car and began to have rust issues. It also had a non-OEM windshield that leaked HUGE puddles of water into the rear floorboard. Other than those two issues, it drove really well. It had more a little more pickup than my 300D. That nice roof rack was my favorite little extra on that car.

Check the hydraulic leveling system fluid level and change that hydraulic filter more often than recommended. Ours always got clogged fairly quickly, due to age, I guess.

Hope you enjoy it!

Here's the picture

Sorry for the "washed out" effect of the hood - poor photography skills on my part. The paint on the hood looks as good as on the side.

I think the wife probably likes the station wagon because it makes you look "domesticated".

Did your TD come with the cross bars for the roofrack. Mine didn't, and sure would like to have them.
