Need New Alda!
I need to get a new alda for my '84 300SD, preferably with the plastice cover over the screw intact. If you have one contact me at
[email protected] |
I thought I remembered in one of the old threads discussing adjusting the alda that it could not be replaced. Is my memory faulty or are there different kinds of aldas on different models?
|
aldas are replaceble...they should be bench tested with the FI pump out of the car, but I don't have the necessary equipment to bench test.....the adjustment screw on the top of the alda was adjusted by a former "friend" and is now broken and I'm desperate!

Arrrrrrrreeeeee you surrrrrreeeee |
I am functioning perfectly well with a busted ALDA.
On mine, the little bolt that extends down into the ALDA snapped off (the locknut was frozen to the bolt...). In desperation I inserted a small screwdriver and found that it will drive the internal mechanism up and down for adjustments. However, I can not secure the mechanism once adjusted, so, my "terminal tinkerer" gene gets it's fill of readjusting the ALDA every couple of weeks. You might give it a try if your situation is similar. I hope to replace the ALDA with my next trip to the salvage yard. |
I stopped by and talked to the guy at the local Bosch authorized repair facility near work and he said that they can do a calibration on the FI and part of that service is to check and replace as necessary the ALDA adjustment system. Estimated price for calibration was $250.
