On older diesels, the oil cooler had a drain plug and I drained it at every oil change. The manual did not specify any special instruction on starting the car after an oil change and I just started it up normally and made sure the oil pressure came up before I revved the engine any. Never had any problems. If you are nervous, crank the engine with someone holding the IP stop lever and wait for oil pressure to register, then stop and start it up like normal. If you are by yourself, crack the injector line nut at each injector to starve the engine from fuel, you will make a little mess, but this will allow oil to flow to the cooler and lines. I know that on the 603 engine, oil is not sent to the cooler until the engine is hot and an oil thermostat opens. If this is the case on your engine, then there really is nothing to be concerned about.
