Differential Interchange - W115 to W123
Does anyone know if a differential from a 1975/76 300D W115 will bolt up to a 1982 300D W123 chassis? Are the axle shafts the same?
I see a candidate differential/axle shaft set on EBay that came from a W115 and has only 27,000 miles. Since I only need the differential, I'd be willing to part out the axle shafts to someone else if they should fit the W123 (and I should win the auction). My current differential whines a bit and has about 70 degrees of slack/slop whatever you want to call it, measured at the driveshaft end. Ken300D |

I do'nt know if the parts interchange, but if you do buy it and part out the axle shafts, I'd be interested in the left side shaft...actually, depending on the price, maybe both of 'em...

Thanks Warden.
I had to let it go because I wasn't sure it would fit. Ken300D |
