SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My signals still don't work. Can't find the flasher anywhere. BOTH dealers are clueless as to what I need to do. They seem to know nothing about the turn signals. I looked on the back of the cluster, heard and felt clicking on it, but nothing can be removed other than light bulbs.

They don't work when the car is hot (like after it's been in the sun all day) and when the heater is on. So it leads me to believe it's temperature related. The hazards don't work when the signals don't. I am so extremely frustrated because I do not know what to do. I'm not about to take it to the dealer, cough up 500 bucks for then to replace a hazard switch (if that indeed is what needs replaced). PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!! I AM SO DESPERATE!!!!!

Hazard switch is $16.25 from FastLane (above) and is fairly simple to replace oneself.

Do you know how to replace it? Haynes manual's description is awful.

190D22 hang in there.
A cold one and a some breathing exercises help sometimes...

Unfortuantely I do not own a 190 or I would be out there tearing it apart to find the flasher relay.

Someone hopefully will step forward with the answer you seek.

This may not help you immediately but do a vin check to make sure the car wasn't in a serious flood or anything.

Do you mean you need to replace the flasher relay? If that's what you need to replace... mine is under the shift surround wood... Mine was not working well but after I start using the hazards randomly (thought it might free it up)... it now works perfectly.

It's a little cubical looking thing..mine is black in color.

I ordered a new hazard switch from fastlane. I found that the turn signals don't work and sometimes (almost never, tho did it tonight on my way home from work) if I turn the hazards on once and they work. So I think it is the hazard switch. 21 bucks and some change is worth it not solving the problem.

It's just how do I get that wood panel off?? Haynes manual's description is AWFUL! Any help?

It's pressure clip mounted. slide something slim and work it upward, being careful not to cut into any of the wires underneath. (screwdriver of nail file). Look carefully at how the wires are folded and connected as you are lifting it up and slowly disconnect each one until you can have easy access to the flasher unit to change it. I would not remove anything you don't have to.

Nate, if it's a SWITCH, the side edges of the switch are the aforemention clips. Just get a knife blade or a thin screwdriver and push them inward. if you do it simultaneously from both sides the switch will simply pop out. If you really need to get the wood trim out, it's simply pressed into the console. Just pry it out the same way as the switch. When you get the new switch look at it carefully, and it will all make sense...
