Question Sealing holes from chrome fender trim

I recently removed the chrome fender trim that was previously installed on the fender over each wheel. Now there exists small holes where they were screwed in on the underside of the fenders. I want to seal them before the rains arrive. What would best seal these holes? Thanks.

Just about any kind of silicon sealant would probably work, the blue stuff in a tube (RTV?) is easy to use. Plus this kind of stuff would allow you to put those back on if you ever want to.
