Engine Block Drain Plug = 1977 300D
Replacing the coolant on a 1977 300D. Where in the heck is the drain plug for the engine block.
JCD |
Should be on the passenger side of the block underneath the intake manifold around the 3rd/4th cylinder area.

I'll look again
That was where I was looking, is it a hex bolt????????
JCD |
That is right - maybe 17 or 19 mm. Not too big and if I remember correctly a crush washer goes underneath it.
|
Found it
Man the guy that designed that drain plug is a real comedian.
Thanks for the help Greg. JCD |
It is a 19mm nut. It's real "fun" to get at when you have a turbo in the way.
|
You are exactly correct
Thankfully mine is a non-turbo, and it is a 19mm.
Rick,,,,,,,,are you back in the US. Progress update please. JCD |
