When I did my custom pad using quilted fiberglass I didn't think any spray on would be good enough. I used contact cement. Big mistake. It worked fine till it got hot, then started to let go. Went out and bought a can of 77 and my problem was solved. Yes it works and it does not let go.

I have no idea what "77" is... but in the past many have attested to the ability of 3M 08090 super trim adhesive for this purpose... do not use 3M general purpose 08088 because that is for lighter stuff... The Super Trim lists hood pads as one of the things it is designed for...
However, be sure to read and follow the directsions... which includes using it on a clean surface... and some (not below X temp) restrictions... Good luck, greg Last edited by leathermang; 11-10-2002 at 01:01 PM. |

I used 3M Super Trim Adhesive earlier this year to put on the new hood pad. It worked fine.

super 77 is amazing
we use it for spray mounting ads in advertising. super 77 is one of the most strong adhesives out there. i considered using it but decided not to (for my hood pad) because it is SO strong. if i ever wanted to get it back off again, i know it'd be a royal pain in the ass.
but... to answer your question, it won't fall down if you use super 77. once you stick something it STAYS for good! eric
