Best Battery for 123 engine?
 

Anybody have any suggestions or preferences on battery choice? I'm about due for a new one.

I've been using a normal sized one since I bought the car a couple of years ago, and I don't really see why I need to go buy the enormous original equipment replacement size this time around. They are far more expensive.

Yes, I know the diesels have 22:1 compression ratios and require large batteries, but isn't it enough to get one with the same cranking amps in a smaller package?

Please tell me if there's more to the bigger battery than just extra bulk.

hey Gil, probably the most highly recommended battery disregarding the cost is the Interstate MTP-93. they run about $135 and are the longest warrantied battery out there. turns out, i have one, brand new in the plastic wrap still, never been used for sale. ill sell it to you for $110 if you're interested and nearby?
