please allow me to try this again.

tachometer lead on 83 300d t. where specifically, does this wire attach to the engine? thank you.

The magnetic pick up is mounted next to the crank dampener. It is just to the right of the numbered section used for setting the timing. Cylinder about half inch dia. and 1.5 inch long with cable coming out of the back of it. Cable winds around under power steering pump and ends in the bottom of the connector on the left fender. Pick-up sensor is mounted with one 8mm nut as I recall. Mine died and I have not fixed it yet.

bobk, thank you. my tach stopped working. end of lead was not attached to anything. must have posted this question at least twice. now i will attach lead and see what happens. again, thank you sir.
