Another Delvac-1 Customer
Some time ago Lightman enlightened me! I didn't know there were different types of synthetic oil for diesels vs. gassers. My only experience (a bad one) had been with Mobil-1 in a gasser. I have switched my old 83 300D to Mobile Delvac-1 with great success. My car is starting at 5 above 0F with no trouble and no heavy smoke. No leaking and much to my surprise LESS is being used between changes. I plan to change this and the next at 3K each but after that I may well go 10K and just add as necessary. The link here is from an Exon-Mobil site I found while trying to find a source for the oil. I am buying it at a local truck stop for now.

I have switched my fleet to Amsoil ATF in manual trans, steering pumps and 15/40 for engines. Seems I am using less oil and starting is easyer, think I will go with 5000 ml oil & filter changes.

I think I'm gonna go with Delvac One for my next oil change but for now Delvac 1300 should do just fine. I haven't got a cold-start problem yet maybe cuz it hasn't gone below 20F in Boston
