Question Want to eliminate self level rear suspension in '84TD

My wife drives a nice '84 300TDT wagon. The self leveling rear shocks are shot and I think that the pressure resevoirs are not working properly. I was thinking of pulling out all of the hydro stuff and converting it to standard coils and shocks.
Have any of you guys ever done this? I think that it would be easy as the early non-turbo wagons had standard suspension. Any help appreciated. Chris

You might want to do a search on this. If I recall correctly someone else looked at this about a year ago and had some good/useful feedback. As I remember most tried to talk him out of it.

"the early

How sure are you of that statement ?

How much would you be willing to pay for proper brackets to do the changeover ?

Are you SURE that these parts are done? The most common problem with the leveling system is that the lever that clamps to the sway bar and connected to the leveling valve, slips on the sway bar. You simply loosen the clamp, rotate the lever and retighten.

Good luck,

Email 'dieseldaddy' or do a search under his name. His TD came with it. After crawling around under his car, I still don't understand how the guy did it, but I'm going to copy it when my TD goes.
