Any interest in W115 ('75 300d) parts?

I have a '75 300D that came with a '71 220D title (oops). Rather than risk the inevitable ticket for driving the car on the wrong title, I am either going to take it back to the guy I got it from, or part it out if there is interest in this group. The car is rusty, but runs like a bat out of hell. Engine is rock-solid; glow plug relay is bad, but the car does start just fine. I just drove it 130+ miles each way to Air National Guard duty this past weekend, and the temp and oil pressue looked great the whole way. At the end of each run the oil pressure, at low idle in gear, was a hair below 30lbs. At high idle (neutral), it was 30lbs or higher.

Odometer reads 92K (prolly 192k?), but stopped working just after I got the car. I've only put about 2.5K on it myself, though.

ATX shifts firm but not hard... power windows all work, gauges all work, brakes feel great, etc... It ought to provide lots of good parts for people, and I would prefer to pull it apart for individuals on this list rather than take it back to the guy whose barn it was parked next to. (I wish he could get me the right damned title!)

If I could get a minimal amount for the engine and/or tranny, I'd be happy. I have a friend who needs fuel gauge sender and one brake caliper, so I know I can sell off some of it, anyway.

Car (and I) are in Central IL. Easy drive from Chicago, St. Louis, or Indy. I would be happy to ship smaller items, but would really like any potential engine/tranny buyers to come drive the car in person before I pull anything off it.

Let me know if there's any interest. Hope I can help out a fellow 115'er!

Re-issue titles are not that hard to get. If it runs that well and looks decent, why not just continue to drive it?

In IL re-issue titles are VERY hard to get, at least when the car is from out-of-state. I think it was last titled in KY, then moved to IN, then I took posession of it. It's too bad, really. As far as I can tell, it would cost far too much money to get a replacement title. Besides, I just got a nice 86 Volvo 740 GLE (loaded!), and will just drive that for my winter car.
