Are the timing chains that are available from Performance Products as good as the OEM chains?

The information given to me is that the timing chains, as well as almost all of these parts, are in fact OEM parts. MB apparently does not authorize manufacture of knock offs, or at least does not encourage it.
I bought the same chains, and they came in Mercedes packaging.
