Dumb Fuse Question

Howdy,

I know I'm not a diesel owner, but as the owner of an old W123, I feel like one under the skin ;-) Anyway, my question is probably an easy one. On the fuse chart that's inside the fuse box cover, they use symbols (like a circle outline, filled in circle, and triangle) to tell what the fuse used there should be rated. For the most part, this is easy enough, but on a couple of them there will be one symbol, then a second one in parentheses. Does that just mean that both ratings will work fine or what? Thanks in advance for any info on this simple question
