300,000 miles!

Well, 4 (technically 3) days ahead of schedule, I hit 300,000 miles at 2:12am on January 17. Even after 75,400 of my own miles in this car, I still love driving it, infact I've been doing extra joy riding the last few days to get to the 300k mark quicker Here are a couple of pics from tonight..

Cool that you had your camera ready for the event
I'm coming up on 333,333 miles, and hope I don't forget to have the camera ready.

Congrats !

John;

Good Show ! I know you have been trying to reach that goal for some time now. Glad to hear you achieved it. With 258000 on the clock on my 85 SD, I hope to see the 300K mark within the next few years.

C Ya,
James

Congrats turbodiesel. I'm a long ways from that milestone. FWIW, when I had my indy run the vacuum setup for my euro lights this past weekend, he informed that another of his 4 300SDL customers was guaranteed to turn 500k sometime this week! Original engine AND tranny. Now you need to update your signature with your 350k prediction.

Thanks guys! I actually did wash it earlier this week, actually twice because it was so dirty.. but now it is dirty again from road salt.

I should be at 350k about this time next year, if I still have her.

ZERO miles per hour? Are you not feeling well?

Now, let's have a pool to guess which of the car's light bulbs is shot - based on the dash warning light.

My guess: Right Rear marker light.

Ken300D

P.S. Another little story about that warning light. You notice how similar it is to the brake pad wear indicator. Well, I had a brake light go out, so when I touched the brakes for the first time in the morning, that "shot-bulb" warning light came on. This was just after I replaced the front calipers and bled the whole brake fluid system. I was kinda worried about being able to stop for a couple of days until I noticed the red "BRAKE" light when warming up the glows.

I know it's one of my brake lights. The light does not come on until I press the brake for the first time.. Just a matter of replacing it.
